In loving memory of Rino Paolo Boschetto, 63, of Sudbury who passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday August 13th, 2019.
Cherished son of Carla Boschetto (nee Fregonese) and Emilio Boschetto (predeceased). Beloved husband to Louise Boschetto, loving father to his one and only “doll” Julia Boschetto (Kevin Brine) and devoted Nonno “Bush” to his pride and joy, the light of his life his grand-daughter Sofia Rose Boschetto Brine. Brother to Dennis Boschetto (Susan Presenza). Son-in-law to Maria Ingriselli and Nicola Ingriselli (predeceased). Brother in-law to Roberto Ingriselli and Renato Ingriselli (Lori Ryan). Zio to Daniel Ingriselli, Aiden Ingriselli, Analicia Boschetto, Alex Boschetto, a special nephew and cousin to many.
Born May 29th, 1956 in Sault Saint Marie Ontario, Rino at the very young age of 6 months old moved to Sudbury with his parents Carla and Emilio into the little house (Ambrosia Jewellery) attached to Rino’s Confectionary on Lasalle Blvd.
After the passing of his father, Rino attended George Brown College in Toronto to pursue a career as a pastry chef and proceeded to master his baking skills at some of the best culinary institutes in Southern Ontario such as La Sem Bakery and the Delta Chelsea Hotel. He returned home to Sudbury to re-open the family business known to and loved by many, Rino’s Pastry Shoppe. Rino delighted most of Northern Ontario with his delicious pastries and cakes for many weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, communions and baptisms. To this day Rino would often be stopped by past customers, they would rant and rave to him about how delicious his cakes were especially his “black forest” and they were very quick to inquire about the secret to his “napoleons”…his reply “I’m retired!”
After retiring from the Pastry shoppe Rino ventured on into the jewellery business, always readily available to provide valuable knowledge to young gentlemen thinking about taking the plunge and wanting to buy an engagement ring from Ambrosia Jewellery, his last word of advice…”If she says no, make sure she throws the ring back at ya!”
Rino had a great love for sports and played high school football for St. Charles College and Lasalle Secondary School during his younger years and passed this love onto his daughter. Not only was he his daughters number one fan in all things and the sports she played, but he made sure his presence was always felt and heard on the side lines of the soccer field or in the stands of the hockey arena, always with a fog horn not far from reach. He made friendships and memories that would last a lifetime. He was an active volunteer with the Sudbury District Girls Hockey Association and Sudbury Canadians Soccer Club and his greatest wish was to see all kids especially girls have the opportunity to play sports at any age.
Rino loved and adored his family, they were his pride and joy especially his granddaughter, Sofia. She was the twinkle in his eye, the hop in his step and his “ice cream” partner in crime. He loved and looked forward to his weekly Friday night date night with Sofia to eat homemade risotto at Nonna Carla’s, he would anxiously await for Sunday family dinners at Nonna Maria’s and her homemade meals, he never said no to a Saturday night outing at a local restaurant for dinner with family and friends, and he counted down the days till July 1st, Canada Day a day he could “legal blow things up” for an audience who would “ooo” and “aww” at the beautiful firework displays.
Rino will be forever missed by all who knew him, but he will never be forgotten by any.
