Daniel’s Obituary
On Tuesday, August 6, 2019, Daniel James O’Brien Sr. passed away suddenly at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 81 years. He leaves behind two proud and loving sons: Fabian (Melanie), and D.J. (Bobbi), and a beautiful daughter Kelly Vincent (Ryan Corporon). He will be sadly missed by his special friend and lover Eileen Prosper. He also leaves two older sisters: Elizabeth Howard, and Joan MacKinnon, and one older brother Tom (Patricia) O’Brien. He was especially close to his grandson and namesake Daniel J. O’Brien III. He also leaves three more beautiful grandchildren: Tyrone (Sarah Collins) Vincent, Chantal Vincent, and Richard Redden. Dan also had the privileged to be a great grandfather to a smart, adorable, and gorgeous baby Mia. He will be sadly missed by many cousins, nephews, nieces, and also beloved family friends who will truly miss his unique wit and humor. Daniel was predeceased by his mother Beatrice (nee Pollus); his father John O’Brien; his older brother John O’Brien; and his older sister Peggy (nee O’Brien) O’Connell and her husband Kevin O’Connell; and his brothers in law: Richard Howard and Doug MacKinnon. A memorial service will take place at the Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 2 pm with a reception to follow immediately after the celebration of Daniel’s Life. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, the O’Brien family ask that you make a donation in Daniel memory to the Janeway or the Local S.A. Food Bank in Corner Brook. The family would like to thank his home support worker Eileen Dollimount, as well as Dr. O’Driscoll and the many nurses that cared for our father with kindness and compassion.
