Memorial Donation
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Annie Chopyk, our beloved Mom, Baba, and Great-Baba on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at the age of 94 years, at the Riverview Palliative Care Centre, Winnipeg, MB., after a brief illness.
Annie is survived by her three children: Joan Huppe, Debby (Bryan) Bohn, Dennis (Mary) Chopyk; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, sister Mary Monastyrski, and sister-in-law Ruth Chopyk.
She was predeceased by her husband Pete, son-in-law Norman Huppe, and sister Olga Stone.
Mom was born in Zhoda, MB., on January 10, 1925, and resided there most of her life where Mom and Dad farmed.
Mom loved the farm, tending her garden and yard. She loved wondering the bushes looking for berries and mushrooms. She was a wonderful cook – our favourites being donuts, nothings and cinnamon buns.
After moving from the farm, Mom resided at the Meadowood Towers, where she made many new friends. She attended church service there under the spiritual guidance of Pastor Dave and Darlene Holland.
The family would like to thank the Palliative Care doctors and staff for the compassionate care that was provided for Mom. Thank you also to the homecare staff who looked after her care at the Meadowood Towers.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB. Reception will follow the service with interment at Zhoda Community Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Annie may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
