Margaret Patricia ( Harrietha ) LeBlanc
“Granny”
Sydney Mines
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we prepare to say good-bye to our beautiful, loving mother, grandmother and, great-grand-mother who passed away on August 3, 2019. We knew the Lord was preparing for you to return home, but we were not ready to let you go. Its only with the comfort of knowing you are back with your love of 60 years that we take comfort in letting you go. Although mom was ill for sometime, her sudden passing at home was a shock to all who love her.
Patricia “Patsy” was born on January 21, 1941, the daughter of the late Dan Joe Harrietha, and Mary Dandy.
In Patricia’s younger years, she worked at the North Side General Hospital and National Sea Products. Mom was also very recognized as an avid member of the volunteer community in her home town of Sydney Mines. If mom was not volunteering in her community she could be found anywhere there was someone in need, finding the time to help anyone in anyway was her reason for being. Her heart and her home were always open. Our mother could never find a reason not to love someone. She was pure of heart and to her there was no reason not to show caring, love, passion or compassion to anyone. Mom was also an Eucharistic Minister at Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines. If there truly are Angles on earth, our mom was one of them.
Being a stay at home mom for the better part of her life, Mom raised eight children, David, Marlene (William), Kenny (Ann), Alex (Wanda), Linda, Irene, Juanita (Val) and Anita with her best friend, Dad by her side. Mom also played a big part in the lives of her 19 grand-children and 25 great-grand children. She was part of large a family and extended family with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband Stanley, son , Kenny, daughter, Marlene and great- grand son Lincoln Shawn. Mom was the last surviving remember of her immediate family. Now back in the loving arms of sisters Rose, Cecelia, Annie, Effie Bell, Josephine, and Jacquline, brothers Doug, Vince, Andrew, Alex, and Michael along with their loving spouses. Ann (Buffett) is the last surviving sister-in-law.
“Granny” as she was known by all, had so many special people in her life. Her niece Rose, that was like a sister to her. Her brother and sister in-law Henry and Rose Mary who always came to visit. Best friend “neighbor” Pat William, Thank you for being Mom’s rock. Granny loved all her grand-children and great-grand-children equally but great-grand-son Preston and great-grand- daughter Hannah held that soft spot in her heart. Preston, our little man with an old soul always making sure she took her medication on time, tucked her into bed and in the morning shared their special tea time. While Hannah always made sure her hair style was just right. Her daughter-in-law Wanda who lovingly, without hesitation open up her home to help take care of Mom in her final months. Grand-daughter Kerianna, who preformed CPR until paramedic’s arrived. We are so proud and grateful for you, as Granny would be.
Our family would like to extent our sincere heart felt thank you to Dr. Andrew Wawer for take such wonderful care of our mom.Your compassion, support, and professionalism won’t be forgotten. We’d also like to thank Dr. Wawer’s staff for their kindness and support.
Doctors and staff at the QE2 hospital in Halifax, N.S.G.H. Dialysis unit (Sending special love to Billy), C.B.R.H. Dialysis unit, Dr. Hewitt, V.O.N, Home Care, and the wonderful staff at Capital Drugs in Sydney Mines, who always showed sincere compassion to Mom. Thank you all for your support given to her over the years.
Mom, I tried to find words to express the love we have for you, but the words didn’t come, because there are no words that can express how much we love you, or how much we miss you. The love you are experiencing now in heaven pales to the love that is left behind. We will carry you in our hearts until the Lord calls us home. Rest now our beautiful Mother.
