Obituary of William ‘Bill’ Vleeming
VLEEMING: William ‘Bill’ –
A resident of Ridgetown, Bill Vleeming passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus with family at his side on Friday, July 5, 2019 at the age of 70.
Born in The Netherlands, Bill was the son of the late Jan and Anna (Garssen) Vleeming.
Loving father of Darell Vleeming of Ridgetown and the late Willy Vleeming (1999).
Proud grandfather of Dustin Vleeming.
Dear brother to Ann Poortinga of London, Ont. (husband Jan predeceased in July 2015); John (Jan) Vleeming (Elaine) of Guilds; Thomas Vleeming of St. Thomas; Henry Vleeming (Mary) of Blenheim; Margaret Powers of Ridgetown, and Grace Price (John) of Rondeau Park. Predeceased by siblings Willem (Billy), Herbert (late Barb), and Eddie Vleeming.
Uncle and Great-Uncle to: Darlene & Charlie Roloson (Curtis, Spencer); Herb & Sandie Vleeming (Travis, Nicholas, Adam); Reynold Poortinga, Johnny & Ruth Poortinga (Corey, Cole, Jenna); Catherine & Ray Versteeg; Donna & Henry Vandepol (Cade, Martyn, Alyssa); Bridget & Alex Watorek (Connor, Alaina); Jeremy Vleeming & Kim Gammage (Fiona, Isla); Stephanie King & Joel Smale (Jake, Blair); John & Jody Vleeming (Teegan, Tori); Michael & Marie Vleeming (Kristen, Nicholas, Steven); Patricia Vleeming (Axton); Patricia & Joe Martin (Hunter, Quinn); Shawn Osborne (Nicholas); Bradley Osborne (Nathan, Rylie); Ashley & Aaron Roffel (Ashton, Abigail, Alexander); Brian Price & Anne Sampilo, Stephen Price, Matthew Price & Vanessa Baker and Michael & Hannah Price.
Predeceased by nephew Christopher Vleeming and a great-niece Anna Roffel.
Bill retired from Challenger Pallet after over 20 years of service. Bill enjoyed skating, hockey, fishing and classic cars.
Cremation has taken place. Family will receive friends at the Blenheim Christian Reformed Church, 286 Chatham Street South, Blenheim on Monday, July 15, 2019 from 11:00am until the Memorial Service at 12:00pm with Rev. Tim Luimes officiating. Interment to follow at Duart Cemetery.
Donations made in memory of Bill to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
