DOUCETTE, Vernon J. – Passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019. Vernon was a member of the elite WWII First Special Service Force. Beloved husband of the late Marian. Loving father of Paula. Cherished grandfather of Craig Labelle (Laila) and his great grand children Mya and Matthew. He will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends in Ottawa and in the Maritimes. A celebration of life and Legion Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 19, 2019 at St. Michael’s Church in Wedgeport. Interment to follow. A reception for all to be held at the Wedgeport Legion. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Michael’s Parish Cemetery Fund, (PO Box 327, Wedgeport, NS B0W 3P0) would be appreciated.
