Velma Anna Schnaeringer Thursday July 11th 2019

Miss Velma Schnaeringer died Thursday, July 11th after a short illness.
Born in Preston, November 23, 1935, Miss Schnaeringer was the daughter of Harry Schnaeringer, and his wife Gertrude Jordan. Velma spent her decades on the family farm on Breslau Road. She attended Riverbank School, and the Galt Business College. After the family moved to Preston in 1959, Velma became active in St. Paul’s United Church, and worked at Werlich Industries and then Canmet Foundry, as a bookkeeper.
Velma was a quiet person, but her gentle manner hid a very funny and insightful wit. Velma was predeceased by her parents, and is survived by her younger sister, Miss Jean Schnaeringer. A succession of lucky cats and dogs were cared for and appreciated by Velma. For the last eight years of her life, Miss Schnaeringer was a resident of The Hanning House, where she was loved by all of the staff for her interest in others, and appreciation of every attention.
Memorial Service will be held for the late Miss Schnaeringer at Trillium United Church, 450 King St E, Cambridge on Saturday, July 27th at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will take place commencing one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy, donations to Trillium United Church or Cambridge Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
