1935-2019
Ray MacDonald passed away from this life July 4, 2019
surrounded by his loving family and care givers at the Carleton Manor.
Ray was born in Bath NB on Sept 23, 1935 son of the late Oscar and
Edna MacDonald. He moved to Woodstock at the age of 6 where he resided
for the rest of his life.
Ray was an avid sportsman and was loved by everyone. He was
past president of Woodstock Golf Club. He was inducted into the
Woodstock Sports Wall of Fame on May 10, 2003. Ray spent most of his
life in sales retiring from Fox Chev Olds in 2000.
Ray is survived by his wife, Shirley of 65 years, daughter,
Sharon Crompton (Alan), granddaughter, Jenna Bell (Dana), sisters in
laws, Fern MacDonald (Norman), Shirley Folkins (Paul), several nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, Ray was predeceased by his brother,
Norman.
Thank you to everyone especially all the staff at Carleton
Manor where he got wonderful care for the past 5 years.
By request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A
grave side service and committal for Ray will be held at the
Woodstock Rural Cemetery on Monday, July
8, 2019 at 11 AM.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the
Carleton Manor Foundation or to a memorial of the donor’s
choice.
