Owen “Dee” MacDonald
83 of Marion Bridge passed away Friday July 26,
2019, at
the McGillivray Guest Home, Sydney, with his
family by his side.
Born in Marion Bridge, he was the son of the late
Owen and Emily (Gibbons) MacDonald.
Truck driving was Dee’s passion.
He began driving a pulp truck while in high school, and
later
delivered gas

and Cape
Breton, making
many friends along the
way. Later
in life he and Marlene opened Tigger’s
Treasures in Marion Bridge where
his friendly manner and quick
smilewelcomed
all who came through the
doors. He enjoyed music
and dancing and loved to reminisce
about days gone by.
Dee was a member of the Marion
Bridge Vol. Fire Department for 39 years and
a tireless community
volunteer.
He will always be
remembered for his water divining
abilities – on a moment’s notice
he would drive across the
Island to “find
a
well” for
someone.
Dee had
a wonderful sense of
humour and always
akind word
for everyone he
met. He was
extremely proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren,
following them to hockey rinks, baseball
fields, and
basketball courts. We will
all miss
him terribly.
Dee is survived
by his
wife, Marlene
(MacPherson), daughters Debi (Kent)
Walker, Big
Ridge and Judi (Blair) MacPherson,
Marion Bridge, brothers Harvey (Gail), Harvey Station, NB, Gilbert,

grandchildren Ethan, Haylea, Jude, Kelly, Owen, Blair, Blayke, Brody,

behind several nieces and nephews.
He
was predeceased by his son
Robert “Tigger”, sisters Yetti Doncaster and Vivian
MacKinnon, brother-in-law Wayne (Terri-Anne)
MacPherson.
