Melissa was the oldest child to Janet and Brian and was loaned to them on Valentine’s Day, 1972. She met her life partner, Ralph in 1986 at the Billards Academy in Lloydminster. They moved in together in 1989 and had their first child in 1991, which they lost. In the following years, they had 7 more children and losing their infant baby in 2010. Melissa took her role as the eldest sibling very seriously. She not only was the eldest but she was a mother figure to her younger siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins. Her home was always open to everyone and the family knew they were welcomed there. Melissa was selfless and took care of everyone. She was our caregiver, our protector, our guidance, our rock and our strength. Melissa had a way of showing others that anything is possible by completing her GED after all her children were born. She never put limits to what or how any life achievements can be made. She believed that anything was possible if you set your mind to it, which led her to obtain her class 1, which was one of her proudest achievements. Our family chain has lost one of our strongest links but we know she will always be protecting and guiding us from up above.
