Peacefully, on July 14 , 2019, Mrs. Marjorie McClean passed away at the age of 98 years. Marjorie resided in Fort Saskatchewan and area for 90 years, the other 8 years she homesteaded on a farm near New Sarepta with her beloved husband Jim.
Marjorie was predeceased by her husband Jim and her 14 siblings. She was the last remaining member of the Fischer family, who came to Alberta from the Parry Sound Colony, Ontario. The Fischer family were one of the first pioneer settler families in the district, arriving in 1892 before Alberta was a province.
Marjorie will be forever loved and remembered by her surviving children, Judy, Grant (Bev), Hugh, Sharon (Ed), Sandy (Pat), Rodney (Maria), Bonnie (Jim), 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces, 2 sisters-in-law, Pauline Fischer and Doreen Fischer and numerous extended family members.
Respecting Marjorie’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at her beloved church, Christ Lutheran Church 9909-90 Street, fort Saskatchewan on Thursday July 25, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Internment to follow at Fort Saskatchewan Cemetery.
Please join the family following service and internment at the Normandy Room, Royal Canadian Legion, 9964-93 Avenue, Fort Saskatchewan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marjorie’s honor may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, Fort Saskatchewan, and/or the Canadian Cancer Socieaty. Condolences may be sent to www.serenity.ca.
