After a life well lived, it is with profound sadness that the family of Marie “Monique” Bouclin (née Labrecque) announces her passing on July 6, 2019 at the age of 100 years in Rosetown, SK. Monique was born on November 1, 1918 in Rosetown, SK. She attended the local rural school until she left her formal education to help on the family farm and to care for her younger siblings. At an early age, she displayed a fondness and unique skill with horses.
Monique was united in holy matrimony to Edouard Bouclin in 1941. The union was blessed with four children. Family life was filled with chores, working the farm, visiting, playing cards with family and neighbors and attending local events in Mondou, SK.
Monique was a lifetime accomplished crafter and you would often find her in her rocking chair crocheting or knitting one of more than 250 blankets; this was also her prayer corner. She was a skilled gardener, even growing her own fruit trees on the prairies. A testament to her tenacity and with the support of her family and friends, she was able to remain in her home until the age of 99.
She was predeceased by her parents Lucienne and Eugene, husband Edouard, son Théophile, daughters Marie and Simone and siblings Carol, Ernest, Ilda, Beatrice and Louise.
Monique will be sadly missed by her daughter Lillian (Yvette, Jocelyne, Danielle and families), son-in-law Marcel (Danny, Dennis and families), daughter-in-law Doreen (Nicole, Michelle Theo and families), daughter Simone’s children (Vincent, Jason, Rachel and families) as well as 13 great-grandchildren. She will also be remembered by her siblings Rose (Gordon), Sister Alice, Alfred (Carol), Leo (Georgette), Luc (Kathy), Lucille (Orest), Adele (Marcel) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Mass in memory of Monique will be held on Monday, July 22, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St Theresa’s Parish, 208 Little Flower Avenue, Rosetown, SK. Descendants and siblings are invited to the committal of cremated remains at the family plot directly following the Celebration of Life. All those in attendance are invited for a light tea in the auditorium of St Theresa’s Parish following the service.
