Marianne Ruth Ruth Lee Long July 6th 2019

Ruth went to sleep just 17 days short of turning 96 years of age. She was born on the homestead in Ridgewood, Alberta to C.W. (Billy) and Margorie Long. Ruth was the oldest of six children. She married Bruce Lee on September 18, 1944 and made Penhold, Alberta her home for many years. After Bruce’s passing in 1977, Ruth made Red Deer, Edmonton and then Medicine Hat her place of residence. Her spunk and true desire was to travel to distant lands or to house sit for friends so that they too could travel. She was baptized March 9, 1963 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and made it her goal to share her faith in Jehovah God with any that would listen. However her declining health took away her ability and energy to help others. Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her four children: Les and Anne Holm, Medicine Hat; Richard and Debra Lee, Lockeport, Nova Scotia; Alan and Lorraine Lee, Red Deer; and Chris and Dixie Lee, Medicine Hat. Also remembering her are 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, two surviving sisters, Florence (Bonnie) Million and Marjorie (Marwin) McLeod of Edmonton and one brother, Willard of Iona Station, Ontario. Our appreciation and thanks go to Park Place Meadow Ridge and Valleyview Age Care centers who took such great care of her in her time of need. Honouring Ruth’s wishes, no formal funeral services will be held. Condolences may be sent through www.saamis.com or to condolences@saamis.com subject heading Ruth Lee.
