Margaret Bertha Bartley Stevenson September 8 1921 July 12 2019 (age 97)

Margaret Bertha Stevenson passed away at Summerland Seniors Village on Friday, July 12, 2019 at the age of 97 years. Margaret was pre-deceased by her husband George in 2006 and three sisters. She is survived by her daughter Wendy (Leo) Bonthoux of Kamloops, BC and son Bartley Stevenson of Courtney, BC as well as six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and three nieces.
Margaret was born in Dubuc, SK and moved to BC as a young girl where she attended Normal School. She was a long-term resident of Summerland, teaching at both McDonald and Giant’s Head Schools. She was also a member of Summerland United Church, Summerland Curling Club, and an avid gardener, winning may awards over the years. While at Summerland Seniors Village, she became a member of the Red Hats, a group she enjoyed very much, and also mentored many children.
The family would like to thank friends for the many visits that brightened her day, Dr. Bannerman and staff, Guardian Pharmacy and staff, and the staff of Summerland Seniors Village during her stay there at both the assisted living side and the residential side for their aid and kindness over the years. The family would also like to thank Providence’s Summerland Chapel for their help and kindness during this time.
At the present time, a service will not be held. However, a memorial will take place at a time when people can attend.
