In Loving Memory of
Manilla Cirelli
86 years
Friday July 12th ,2019 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury
Beloved wife of 66 years to Lucio (Predeceased). Loving mother of Antonietta “Toni” Little (Jim), Peter (Janice), Mary (Duco) and Franco (Josie). Cherished Nonna of Douglas (Julie), Laura Imbeau (Gates), Alessandra and Lucio and Bis-Nonna to Spencer. Manilla was born in Molise, Italy. She came to Canada in 1953 with her daughter Antoinetta to join her husband Lucio who had come to Canada in 1951.
She worked in the bakery at Woolworth’s in downtown Sudbury until she retired when the store closed. We always looked forward to her bringing home the strawberry shortcakes and banana rolls and donuts that she made.
After retiring Manilla and Lucio travelled to many places until Lucio became ill. Manilla took loving care of Lucio until he passed away two years ago. A devout Roman Catholic, she was a longtime member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church. Manilla enjoyed her walks with her sister Anna and visits with her sister in law Rosaria.
Family was very important to Manilla and she was happiest when her family was with her. Her famous chocolate chip cookies were known far and wide and will be missed by all.
