Mabel Jean Price passed away peacefully with her family at her side, at Cedarcroft Retirement Home, on Tuesday, July 17, 2019 at the age of 97 years. She was born in Basswood, MB, daughter of the late Robert Hyde and the former Pearl McTavish. She was formerly employed at the Stratford Cafe and the Elizabethan Tea Room. Mabel was a member of St. Johns United Church, a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Stratford – Branch # 8, the Royal Canadian Legion Dart League and bowled for many years at Bowl More Lanes and Uptown Lanes.
She was predeceased by her husband Oren Brown Price November 14, 2015. Loving mother of Donna Zehr and Dayle, Marjorie Meadows and Allan, Deb McArdle and Jamie, Dave Price and Mary Beth. Dear sister of Alice Rainbow and Trudene Podrucheny. Sister-in-law of Dorothy Hyde, Enid Kruschenske, Eric Price and Ruth Williams. Lovingly remembered by eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by brothers David, Jack and Arthur, a sister Mary McMillan and a granddaughter Deanna in 2018. Thank you to granddaughter Stacy and all the staff at Cedarcroft Place for your compassionate care over the past several years. At Mabel’s request, cremation will take place and a private family burial will be held.
