Lucia Maria “Lucy” Myderwyk (nee Van Stein)
April 27, 1954 – July 13, 2019
On July 13th at 12:04am, Lucy ended her 19-month battle with cancer in
the comfort of her home at Myderwyk farms, surrounded by her husband and
family. Lucy will forever be remembered by her husband of 44 years, Hans
Myderwyk, as well as their children: Joe Myderwyk (Kim) of Wellington,
Rose Ritchie of Midland, Kim Conley (Andrew) of Dublin, California, Jeff
Myderwyk (Alicia) of Wellington, and Jessica Stellatos (Jerry) of
Kingston. Lucy was a very proud Oma to Kyra-Lynn and Chloe Myderwyk,
Jack Ritchie, Madison and Charlie Conley, Isabella, Sophia and Felix
Myderwyk, and Anna-Lucia and Alexander Stellatos. Lucy was a loving
sibling to 9 brothers and sisters as well as 8 brother- and
sister-in-laws, all located globally, including a special place in her
family for brother-in-law Fred Myderwyk.
Lucy will also be missed by her church family at Emmanuel Baptist
Church, her friends at TOPS, and the many adopted grandchildren who were
privileged to call her Oma.
A visitation for Lucy will be held at Whattams Funeral Home on Tuesday,
July 16th from 6-8pm. The funeral will be held at Emmanuel Baptist
Church on Wednesday, July 17th at 11am.
Donations to the Princess Margaret Ride to Conquer Cancer would be
appreciated by the family at bit.ly/2GbAsvV. Hans, Joe and Jeff
have completed this ride for the past two years and Lucy was very proud
of her boys while waiting at the finish line. They will continue to
participate in the future in her honour and continue raising funds in
the race to end cancer.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Lucia Maria Lucy Myderwyk nee Van Stein April 27 1954 July 13 2019..
