LORRAINE “SANDY” LIZON
June 12, 1947 – July 6, 2019
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lorraine Lizon after an extended illness, on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Left to cherish Sandy’s memories are her husband, Amile; sons, Roger and Kurt; daughter-in-law, Karen (Chris); granddaughter, Kaila; brother, Howard (Yvonne); sister, Verna; nieces, Lisa and Lori; nephew, Chris and numerous close friends who have also been her family. She was predeceased by her adoptive parents, Russell and Ina; and brother, Murray.
Lorraine was born in 1947, in Oak River Reserve. In 1966, she married the man of her dreams, Amile, in Brandon, Manitoba. The young couple then ventured off to Winnipeg, where they found their forever home to raise their family. Lorraine loved working at Sears, where she quickly became an expert in everything she sold, while developing lifelong friendships. She retired in 2015.
Lorraine loved watching sports, which included curling and football. While she loved cheering on the Redblacks, her most favourite athletes were her son, Kurt, and granddaughter, Kaila. She never missed any of Kurt’s football games, or Kaila’s soccer games; always their biggest cheerleader.
Through the years, Lorraine enjoyed bowling, gardening, reading, crafting with her girls’ stitch club, cooking and baking, hosting dinners and card parties for family and friends, many trips to the USA for shopping, bussing on day trips to the casinos, and spending time with her only granddaughter, Kaila. Lorraine constantly loved everyone around her, and it always showed. Her doors were always open for a coffee and chat. She genuinely loved spending time with those she loved.
During her downtimes through the years, she loved to relax with her pets. Her kitties, Fred, Brandy, Victor, Oreo and Puppy, Casper.
In true Lorraine style, not wanting a fuss to be made, in honor of her wishes, cremation has taken place, and no formal service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.
“In life we loved you dearly,
In death we love you still.
In our hearts you hold a place,
No one else will ever fill.”
Rest well, sweet angel. You’ve earned it.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Lorraine Doris Lizon June 12 1947 July 6 2019..
