COTE, Lorna (nee Smith)
Sept 18, 1935 – July 19, 2019
With saddened hearts we announce that Lorna Cote passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Friday, July 19, 2019 at the age of 83.
Lorna was born to Marie and Bo Smith of Delburne, AB. She married Donald Cote on October 14, 1955 at her parent’s farm.
Lorna will be forever remembered by her devoted husband, Don, and loving family; daughter, Mary Ann (Kirk) Hogarth; grandson, Garret (Laura); great grandson, Thomas; grandson, Cale Hogarth; daughter, Jan (Gil) Piatt; grandson, Josh Simpson (Chelsey); great grandson’s, Theron and Warden; grandson, Matt Simpson (Chrissy); great granddaughter’s, Hanna and Emily; Gil’s son, Kyle Piatt; daughter, Carol (Brian) Oshust; granddaughters, Justine (Adam) Danyleko, Megan (Bret) Nederlof; and grandson, Connor Oshust. She is also lovingly remembered by her brothers, Bill (Marion) Smith, LaRue (Louise) Smith; sister, Donna (Merv) Goheen, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Doug Smith.
Sincere appreciation to the staff at Extendicare Michener Hill for their excellent care, kindness and compassion. A private Memorial was held by her family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, 16th Floor, 20 Eglinton Avenue W, Toronto, ON, M4R 1K8.
