July 6, 1932 – June 29, 2019
It is with great sadness, that the family of Lillian Phillips announce her passing, surrounded by loved ones, at St. Joseph’s at Fleming on Saturday, June 29, 2019 in her 87th year. Lillian was predeceased by her loving husband Harold William Phillips (July 2009); her parents Robert & Sarah (Mary) McFarland; sisters Ruth (Jim) Henry, Mary (Sid) Mitchell, Violet (Bert) Edwards, Ethel (Ed) Duncan, Dorothy (Cecil) Robinson, Mickey (Daniel) Bronson, Betty (Don) Willison and brothers Clarence, Ivan and Douglas McFarland; her in-laws Violet and William Phillips and sister in-law Elizabeth (Sherman) Montgomery. Lillian was the cherished and much loved aunt of many nieces and nephews. Never having any children of their own, Lillian and Harold will be remembered as the generous, friendly couple of Shelbourne Street. Heartfelt thanks to all those who cared for Lillian over these past 10 years – Patricia & Becky Bronson, Susan Shaw, Betty Whitmore, Phyllis Hughes and Carol Simpson. Special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s at Fleming – Creekside B for their loving care of Lillian during her time there. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 15, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road, Peterborough. Inurnment at Little Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lillian can be made to St. Joseph’s at Fleming Residents Council or a charity of choice.
