Leslie David Steele III
1933-2019
Leslie David Steele III, 85, of Hillsborough passed
away on July 1st, 2019 at the Moncton Hospital.
Les was born in Saint John on August 4, 1933 the son of the
late Leslie David Steele II and Edna (Pierce)
Les worked at The Bank of Nova Scotia as a clerk, then
worked with the Canadian Gypsum Company as a Manager, He
last worked at Hopewell Rocks as a Commissionaire until his
retirement.
He had a love of all sports and was instrumental in the
Hillsborough Minor Hockey organization. He also enjoyed golfing,
baseball, bowling and a good game of cards. He will be
remembered for his quiet ways and always having a smile or a kind word
for everyone he met. His kindness and affectionate hugs and
unique laugh were part of who he was. He loved his family
very much and appreciated the times he spent with his grandchildren
and great grandchildren, always a treat bag ready for them.
Les lived a simple life but was very happy and content with
all he had and was always willing to share with others who were in
need.
He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Pamela Steele of
Hillsborough; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Steele of Hopewell Hill; his
treasured grandchildren, Tyler, David (Katie) and Michael; and by his
precious great grandchildren; Siblings, Mike (Mary-Jane), Lyn (Rod),
Brian, Donna (Jim) He will also be missed by special friend Barb whom
he shared many laughs with.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his beloved wife,
Phyllis (O’Connor) sons, Leslie and Phillip , son-in-law, Paul Roy.
Siblings Arthur, Betty, Bill, Katherine, Frances, Jack, Joseph and
Richard.
Honouring Les’s own wishes there will be no
visitation. A celebration of his life and Memorial Service
will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on July 5, 2019 at
2:00pm with Rev. Dean MacDonald officiating. Following the service the
family will be meeting with relatives and friends for further sharing
of memories and for refreshments. Interment will be in the
Grey’s Island Cemetery, Hillsborough, NB.

greatly appreciated.
