Passed away at Georgian Bay General Hospital on Sunday June 9, 2019 at the age of 83 with his loving wife Leona. Father of Bland Campbell, Carver (Maureen) Campbell, Adair (Lindsey) McQueen, Kathy (Rod) Bilton, the late Carl Fox and the late Larry Jr Campbell. Dear brother of Wally (Pat). Lawrence will be sadly missed by his stepchildren. Lawrence is predeceased by his parents Reginald & Grace also by his brother Bill and sister June. Lawrence will live on in his grandchildren, and extended family.
At the age of 17, Larry was recruited by the British Secret Intelligence Service. He was trained in weapons, explosives, hand to hand combat, judo, jujitsu, cat burglary and stealth. He became a deadly killer. In the 50s and 60s he went on five secret and dangerous missions behind the Iron Curtain during the Cold War, where several colleagues were killed. After returning home Larry worked as Special Security for the Executives of the Bank of Nova Scotia in Toronto for 15 years.
Larry loved the card game Bridge and would attend frequently at the Victoria Habour and Midland games.
Friends will be received at Carson Funeral Homes – JH Lynn Chapel, 290 First Street, Midland (705) 526-6551 on Thursday June 13, 2019 from 2 – 4pm &
7 – 9pm. Funeral service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Friday June 14, 2019 at 11am. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Calvary Baptist Church or charity of choice would be appreciated by the family if desired.
