Kirstiuk Donald 2019

Kirstiuk, Donald
July 1949-July 2019
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Donald (Don) Kirstiuk, of St. Albert at the age of 69, on July 21, 2019. He was surrounded by his loving family after a courageous fight. Don approached his illness in the same manner and with the same attitude he lived his life: strength, courage, determination and an imperishable sense of humour.
Don will be missed by Lydia, his loving wife of 45 years; sons, Darren (Jennifer), and Gregory (Kelly); grandsons, Bennett and Harrison; and siblings, Betty (Eddy), Gloria and Terry (Diane). Don will also be remembered by his many nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends who were inspired by his spirit, passion, kindness, generosity and zest of life.
He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Ann; brother-in-law, Robert (Bob); and in-laws, Harry and Jennie.
Don also took great pride in his career within the construction industry and was highly respected. He formed many strong friendships over the years and enjoyed the times with those he built relationships with.
Don’s family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to numerous health care professionals at the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute, the Glenrose and Royal Alex Hospital who cared for Don over the course of his illness. A special thank you to Dr. Markland for his kindness and compassion towards Don and his family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute or the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.
A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held at a later date.
