Kenneth’s Obituary
Godfrey, Kenneth D. – 66, Springhill, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 10th, 2019, in High Crest Nursing Home, Springhill. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Garfield and Charlotte (Hollingsworth) Godfrey. Ken worked for 32 years for the former Atkinson Plumbing and Heating in Springhill. He was a life long learner and enjoyed reading and exploring museums and educational attractions with his grandchildren. He had a passion for music and loved being around his family. Ken is survived by his wife, the former Donalda Spence; son, Jason “Lee”; and daughter, Amanda (Daniel) Gogan; grandchildren, Parkyr and Claire, all of Springhill; brothers, Robert; George (Marina); David (Minnie); Ernie (Lynn); Donald; Layton, (Dulcie); sisters Bonnie Godfrey; Ruth (John) Mosley. He was predeceased by sister, Audrey Godfrey; sister in law Donna Godfrey; brother in laws, Jim MacDonald and John Mosley; mother in law, Doris Boucher. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Friday, July 12 in MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home, 5075 Main Street, Oxford (902-447-2930). Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 13 in Church of the Nazarene, Oxford. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ken’s memory to the Huntington Society of Nova Scotia or to the GOVRC Workshop, Springhill.
