BOYD, Kenneth Norman
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ken, at the Ridgeview Long Term Care on Sunday, July 7th, of Stoney Creek, in his 82nd year after a long battle with PSP and Lewy Body Dementia. Ken was born in Chipman, New Brunswick to James and Luella (Wallace) Boyd. On September 30, 1937. He will always be missed and loved by Della, love of his life and wife of 57 years. Loved father of Preston, Kendra (Bob) and Alison. Cherished grandfather of Alisha, Bradley and Jennifer. Predeceased by brothers Allison and Todd and brothers-in-law Glenn Brown and Jerry Purves. Will also be missed by his sisters-in-law Alice Purves-Neeb and Berne Boyd, nieces, nephews, a special cousin who was like a brother Clayton Boyd; long time friends for 55 years, Vince and Evelyn Tomanic and many other cousins and good friends. Ken was a longtime member of the Hamilton Horseshoe Pitching Club. He loved family, Chipman, N.B., dancing and fiddle music. Many thanks to Staff at Ridgeview, Gage House. Their care and compassion will always be remembered and we will be eternally grateful. Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Service will be held at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Wednesday, July 10 at 8 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. A Celebration of Ken’s Life will be held at the Hamilton Horseshoe Club, 170 Brockley Dr, Hamilton on Sunday, July 14 from 1-3 p.m. Donations to the Alzheimer Society or charity of your choice would be appreciated.
