Keith D. Poplar
1950-2019
BROOKDALE, NS: It is with
broken hearts that we announce the passing of Keith
Dennis Poplar, age 69, of Brookdale, NS, on Wednesday,
July 24, 2019, following complications associated with vasculitis at
the QE2 Health Sciences Centre in Halifax.
Born in Strathcona, NS, he was the son
of the late John and Eva (Rector) Poplar.
Keith worked in construction and
maintenance at Gables Nursing Home. He was always willing to
help anyone who needed it. He was very sociable and could
sit for hours and talk about event and people of days gone by with
great knowledge of family ties in the River Hebert/Joggins and
surrounding areas. He was well loved and respected by
everyone who knew him. He really enjoyed spending time with
his grandchildren.
Keith will be loving remembered and
missed by his wife of 49 eyars, Eleanor (McKinnon), Brookdale;
daughter Amy (Jordan) Smith, Memramcook, NB; son and best friend
Robbie (Carrie Lee), River Hebert, NS; grandchildren Jayde and Lilly
Smith and Alex and Rowen Poplar; sisters Beverley Rosenberg, Lorna
Melanson, Nancy McKeigan; brothers John, Maxie, Michael, Marty and
Randy; as sell as many sisters and brother in laws and many nieces and
nephews.
Besides his parents, Keith was
predeceased by infant son Robbie Keith Jospeh Poplar; brothers Terry
and Danny
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of the Jones Family Funeral
Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst (902-667-8777) from
where an Afternoon of Remembrance will be held from 2 until 4 pm on
Monday, July 29, 2019. Burial will take place in the St.
Thomas Aquinas Cemetery at a later date.
Donations in memory of Keith may be made
to the St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery, or a charity of the donor’s
choice.
