Joyce Shannon
1922-2019
At the Grand Falls General Hospital, May 28, 2019, Mrs. Joyce
Shannon of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 97 years.
She was the widow of Thomas Shannon. Born at London, England
in 1922, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Ada (Howes)

JOYCE ALICE WOODALL SHANNON born in London, England in 1922
emigrated to Canada following World War II to join her husband Thomas
Shannon who predeceased her in 1978. Their 7 children have all
graduated from university and left the area to pursue careers and
adventures of their own. Joyce then put her energies into
her community and her church. She worked in the local library, taught
religion, worked as pastoral agent and was a long time member of the
hospital board of directors. Lifetime learning was a passion which she
shared and promoted with all. Her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren kept her love of knitting constant.

Grand Falls. Visiting hours will be Friday August 2nd from 9 to 10:45

Her funeral service will be held Friday, August 2nd at 11
a.m. from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls
with interment in the parish cemetery.
For those who wish, donations to Development and Peace or a
charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the
family.
