December 31, 1928 – July 29, 2019
Passed peacefully away on July 29, 2019 at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, aged 90 years; originally from Fortune Harbour, NDB. Predeceased by his parents Richard and Annie (Hynes); sisters Mary (Tom) Quirk and Sr. Gertrude Hamilton, RSM. Leaving to mourn his wife Nora; daughter Diane (Chris Druken); sons Gerald (Tina), David and Paul; precious grandchildren Abigail, Grace and Benjamin; brother-in-law Gerard Maloney (Mary Lou); sister-in-law Mary Greene (Bob-deceased); special niece Ann Marie Buoy as well as other relatives and friends. Sincere thank you to the staff and pastoral care team of St. Pat’s Mercy Home for their loving care and support during his short stay. Thank you also to the families of residents on the 3rd Floor South for their friendship and kindness. Cremation has taken place. Visitation from Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, on Thursday,` August 1, 2019 from 2-9pm. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, August 2nd, 2019 from Caul’s Chapel at 11am. Inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA in John’s memory.
