Obituary of Joanne Lake
Lake- Joanne Lynn – 67 of Kempt Shore passed away peacefully on July 4th, 2019 at home. Born May 17th, 1952 in Cheverie she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Grace (Faulkner) Burke.
Joanne worked on the shore all of her life at the Kempt Shore credit union and the Hants Shore Health Clinic. She volunteered at multiple organizations and started many programs including the after-school program, preschool program, breakfast program along with many others. Joanne loved walking her dog Duke at the beach and enjoying the view of Cape Blomidon.
Joanne is survived by her loving husband of 46 years Doug, sons; Kevin (Heidi), Denny (Lorrain), grandchildren; Emma, Jenny and Laura, great-granddaughter; Piper, brother; Mike Burke and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Joanne was predeceased by brother; Ron Faulkner.
Cremation has taken place with no service or visitation respecting Joanne’s wishes. There will be a private family committal service held at a later date. Donations in memory of Joanne can be made to the Kempt Shore Preservation Society, c/o Arnold Gallagher 5740 Hwy 215, Kempt Shore, B0N 2A0. A special thankyou to the doctors and staff of the Hants Shore Health Clinic.
