Passed away at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Monday July 1, 2019 after suffering a stroke 2 days after her 86th birthday. Beloved wife of 66 years to Joseph Ronald Demers. Loving mother to Ron Jr. (Helene), Debra (Terry), Lorraine (Kevin), Larry, Stephanie (Jim) and Robert (Maria). Cherished grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren, all who knew her affectionately as Nanny or Nan. Daughter of the late Victor Tapp and late Viola Hewitt. Survived by brothers Wayne, Keith, Tony and sister Cathy. Predeceased by sisters Sharon, Helen and twin sister Barbara. Joan had a 15 year career in the drapery and interior decorating business followed by 20 years at the Ottawa Civic Hospital. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by family, friends and all who knew her. Family and friends may visit at Pinecrest Remembrance Services, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa, ON on Saturday, July 6, 2019 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM.
