Mahoney, James Francis –
Passed away peacefully, at St. Joseph’s Health Centre on Friday, July 12,
2019. Jim Mahoney was the loving and devoted husband of Irene (Farrell)
for almost 64 years. Loving father of Sue and her husband Paul Breadner
of Guelph, Stephen of Toronto and Kevin and his wife Michelle of
Etobicoke. Cherished grandfather of Michael Breadner and his wife
Angelina of Guelph, Megan and Mikayla Mahoney of Etobicoke and adored
great-grandfather of Matty (Matthew) Breadner of Guelph. He was
predeceased by his parents Frank and Marie Mahoney and by his brothers
Terry of Toronto and Peter and his wife Beverly of Toronto.
Jim was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus for over 62 years,
member of Council 10631 in Guelph and 4th Degree member of Assembly 2510.
Jim served as Grand Knight, Faithful Navigator and District Deputy as well as
being a strong supporter for many other charitable endeavors over the
years such as St. Vincent de Paul and Right to Life.
His family will receive friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral
Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 from
2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Parish, 175 Emma
St., Guelph on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. with interment at
Marymount Cemetery. If so desired, memorial donations to St. Vincent de
Paul or Right to Life would be appreciated by his family.
