James Williston Sutherland
1937 – 2019
James Williston Sutherland of Cassilis, NB, husband of Rolla (Holmes) Sutherland passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Thursday, July 25th, 2019 at the age of 81.
Born is Cassilis, NB, he was the son of the late Joseph and Clara Iris (Howe) Sutherland.
James was retired from School District # 16 as a bus driver and a custodian.
He was past member of the North & South Esk Lions Club, and L.O.L. #79.
James is survived by three daughters: Karen Sutherland (Bliss McAllister) of Sunny Corner, NB, Judy Soifer (Allan) of Ottawa, ON, and Elizabeth Beaven (Bruce) of Ottawa, ON; one son: Allan Sutherland of Miramichi, NB, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one great great grandchild as well as several nieces and nephews.
James is predeceased by parents, Joseph and Clara Iris, four brothers: Wilson, Charlie, Davis, and Robert; four sisters: Martha, Mina, Leora, and Clara, and one granddaughter: Twilight Lee Anne.
Visitation will be held at Meadow’s Funeral Home, 150 Northwest Road, Sunny Corner, NB on Sunday evening, July 28th, 2019 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and on Monday, July 29th, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
The Funeral Service will be held from Meadow’s Funeral Home Chapel, 150 Northwest Road, Sunny Corner, NB on Tuesday, July 30th, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Harvey Sherrard officiating.
Interment will follow in the St. Stephen’s United Church Cemetery, Red Bank, NB.
As expression of sympathy, in James’s memory donations may be made to the St. Stephen’s United Church Fund or a memorial of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
