Guy’s Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Guy Simmonds announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the age of 78 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife Patricia of 53 years; his son Brad (Karen); his feline friend Smokey; his grandchildren: Jordan, Carrie Ann, and Amanda; his sister Ann Forgét of Orillia, ON; his brother Ken (Hazel) Simmonds; his sister in law Lorraine; his aunt Ruby (Wes) Simmonds of St. Fintan’s; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Guy was predeceased by his parents: James & Muriel Simmonds; his mother and father in law: Reba & David Beach; his infant twin; his sister Marie Simmonds; his brother James Simmonds; and his feline friend Whiskers. At Guy’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation for family and friends will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Thursday, July 18, 2019 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm with a prayer service taking place that evening from 7-7:30pm with The Very Reverend Catherine Short officiating. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted and/or memorial donations can be made to the local Corner Brook SPCA.
