Obituary of Gordon George MaGee
On Monday, July 22, 2019, Gord MaGee, of Kentville, loving husband and father of two children, passed away at the age of 77. Gord was born on April 6, 1942 in Montreal, QC and married Marjorie Theresa. They celebrated 52 years of marriage on April 29th of this year. They raised two sons, Chuck and Dan.
Gord had a passion for fishing, camping, painting, but mostly spending time with friends over a campfire or fishing adventure. Gord would always offer open invitations to visit and share his love for the outdoors. His passion for fishing and painting was always shared with friends and family. If he fished, he invited friends, if he painted, he would paint for others. He was known for his humorous personality, quick wit, and his kind and compassionate spirit.
Gord is survived by his wife Marjorie; his two children Chuck and Dan; his brothers Brian (Carol) and Gerry; his sister Judy (Ron); four grandchildren Brennan, Nicholas, Matthew, and Lauren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Donald and Patricia (Perry) MaGee, Gord was predeceased by his older brother Don.
As Gord was always about socializing and gathering of friends, so it is fitting that ‘A Celebration of Gord’s Life’ will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2019 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the Kentville Legion, Branch #6. Memorial donations, in Gord’s memory, may be made to the Diabetes Canada (www.diabetes.ca) or to Bob Alders Fishing Camp (Gord’s sense of humor). Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
