With heavy hearts the family of Gloria May Clark announces her passing that occurred on Wednesday July 3, 2019 at the Church of St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home. Born 1942 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ina (Sinton) Wharton.
In her earlier years Gloria worked in the kitchen at the TB Hospital and then at a nursing home out west, followed by the Colonial Inn in Saint John. Gloria was a hardworking and dedicated mom raising her 5 children on her own. She was an excellent bowler and also enjoyed playing bingo and knitting.
She is survived by her only daughter Ann (Peter) Wong of Saint John; sons Michael McPhee, Norman McPhee, Daniel (Denise) McPhee and Kevin Happeney all of Alberta; brother Ronald (Betty) Wharton of Saint John; sisters Shirley (Barry) McManus and Sheila Knudsen both of Saint John; grandchildren Rob, Michael, Jessie, Jordan and Hannah.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Billy Wharton; sisters Carol Logan, Barbara Stein and Diane Denton and a niece Kimberly White.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road. By request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Graveside Service will be held in Cedar Hill Ext. Cemetery on Tuesday July 9, 2019 at 11 a.m. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Lung Association.
