“Jerry”
Nathan Age 87, of Drumhead, Guysborough County, passed
away Monday, May 6, 2019 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital,
Antigonish. Born in Drumhead, he was a son of the late Trueman and
Blanche (Burke) Burke. Jerry was employed by the City of Halifax for
29 years; loved splitting and piling wood, and fishing with his son;
enjoyed many-many years of playing the steel guitar; was a member of
Seal Harbour United Baptist Church. He will be sadly missed by his
family and friends. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 66 years,
Allie (Henderson); son, Michael (Lorna); grandchildren, Karen, Marsha,
Brandon, Braelyn Burke, Stephanie MacKenzie-Freeman; several nieces,
nephews and their families. He was predeceased by children, Jay and
Karen. A family interment will take place in Seaside Cemetery, Seal
Harbour. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation of Nova Scotia. Arrangements are under the dignified and
compassionate care of G.W. Giffin Funeral Home Ltd., Country Harbour.
