Obituary of George Lawrence King
KING: George Lawrence –
A resident of Ridgetown, and formerly of Windsor, George King passed away at the Windsor Regional Hospital, Ouellette Campus on Monday, July 8, 2019 at the age of 73.
Born in Montreal, George was the son of the late George and Margaret (Lyons) King.
Beloved husband of 26 years to Susan (nee Welsh).
Loving father of Joanne (Tom), Carolyn and Jacquelyn.
Step-father to Stephanie (Bill) and Derrick.
Proud grandfather to Emma, Ryan; Coral, Amber, Michelle; and Devoné
Step-grandfather to Christopher, Darien, Brenden, Adrien, Hayden and Hailey.
Great-grandfather to Henry.
Brother of Cathy. Predeceased by siblings Ruth and Brian.
Also missed by his four-legged companion, Cruz.
Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
George enjoyed boating and fishing in Lake Huron in his younger days with his Mother in his 33 foot Chris-craft boat. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, camping in Alvinston at the seasonal trailer and renovating their home. George started driving truck when he was 16, and retired from Challenger Motor Freight after 57 years of trucking. He also enjoyed a brief career at Northern Telecom.
As per George’s wishes, cremation has taken place and he had requested no service.
