Florence “Doddie” Hines-Ranson

It’s with heavy hearts we announce the passing of
Florence “Doddie” Margaret Hines-Ranson, of Sydney, passed
away Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital
surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and
Alice (Poirier) Hannebury.
Doddie is survived by her son, Wayne (Kim) Hines, Sydney;
grandchildren, Shannon and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Abel (her
Special Boy), Octavia, and Athena; Kim’s children, Bria and
Dylan and grandchild, Payton; several cousins, nieces and nephews;
special friend, Margie St. John; cousin, Connie Piercy; good friend,
Normie Bona and her phone buddy, Margie Briand.
She was predeceased by her brother, Harry and her beloved fur
baby, Shade.
Doddie took pride in her volunteer work at the Pawsmart, in
Whitney Pier, helping many animals and making dear friends along the
way.
Many thanks to staff of the Cancer Centre, Palliative Care
and Dr. Carol Critchley for her care and kindness for many years, you
are all angels in our eyes.
Funeral service will take place Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 11
a.m. in Sydney Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brenda Drake officiating.
Interment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Pawsmart, Victoria Road, Whitney
Pier.
