Felix Karl Bussmann Monday July 8th 2019

Bussmann, Felix Karl – The family of Felix Karl Bussmann announce his peaceful passing on July 8th, 2019 at the age of 89. Loving and devoted husband of 55 years to Veronika Bussmann (nee Seidel). Cherished father to sons Markus (Peggy), Stefan (Michel), and Michael (Simone). Proud Opa to Peter, Noah, Joshua, and Charlotte.
Felix Bussmann lived a full life. Born in 1929 in Feldhausen, Germany, Felix began work as an apprentice baker at age 14. He immigrated to Canada in 1953, became a Canadian citizen in 1958, and then joined the Canadian military, where he was taught to cook. Felix was soon back in Germany, this time as a Canadian soldier. He met and married Veronika in 1963, they started their family in Germany, and only returned to Canada in 1973, where he was posted to Borden, Alert, and finally Shilo. Felix retired from the military as a Master Warrant Officer in 1981, and within a few months was hired by Niagara College as a cooking instructor, a position he held until 1994. Felix and Veronika enjoyed retirement at their home in Welland until very recently, tending a large home and for many years a larger garden.
The funeral mass will take place at St. Alexander’s Church, 50 Pelham Town Square, Fonthill on Friday July 12th, 2019 at 11:00 am, followed by lunch in the church hall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Covenant House Toronto, or the charity of your choice. Online condolences can be shared at www.pedlarfuneralhome.ca.
