Ernest William “Ernie” McPherson
1948-2019
Ernest William “Ernie” McPherson – age
71, of New Minas, passed away suddenly from complications of diabetes
and Parkinson’s on Saturday, July 20, 2019, in the Evergreen
Home for Special Care, Kentville. Ernie was raised in Pictou County
and was a son of Velma Cantley, Durham. Ernie had been employed with
MT&T for 22 years. He was also a software and hardware
developer at Eastern Independent Telecom in Brockville, Ontario. He
enjoyed model trains and was a ham radio expert. In his younger years,
he was involved with the Waverly Search and Rescue. Besides his
mother, he is also survived by his loving partner of 30 years, Anne
Fraelic, New Minas; brother-in-law, Corey (Marla) Regan;
sister-in-law, Tina (Marc) Ryder; nephews, who he adored, Christopher
and Matthew Ryder. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard; aunt,
Emily Jardine; pets, Maple and Juniper. Cremation has taken place and
there will be no visitation or funeral service, by request. Donations
in memory may be made to Parkinson Canada. Arrangements have been
entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
