It is with sadness we announce the sudden passing of Ernie on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the age of 78 years.
He will be forever loved and remembered by his wife of 58 years, Peggie; daughter, Sandi (Kevin) Mullane; sons, John (MaryAnn) and Gordon (Joanna); 7 grandchildren, Darla (Tom), Kelly (Hugo), Bailey, Mandy (Aaron), Courtney, Shelby and Lucas; 7 great-grandchildren, Cohen, Alyia, Hailey, Brady, Tanner, Parker and newest addition, Jay. Also to miss him dearly is his brother, Bob (Patti); nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Ernie was predeceased by his parents, Werner and Ina; step-mother, Margaret; brother, Jay and grandson, Justin Mullane.
Ernie and his family were proud of his many accomplishments. Some of his specialties were Real Estate development, property management, and his newest creation being Continental Self Storage Inc. He was the President of the Edmonton Eskimos, Board of Directors at NAIT, Board of Directors at Alberta Hospital, Honorary Chair at CASA, and his contributions to the community were immeasurable. Ernie’s greatest passion for life was spending time with his family and creating memories.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12810-111 Ave NW, Edmonton, on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 2:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of “Big E” to CASA, Suite 406, 10011 109 Street NW, Edmonton, AB, T5J 3S8 or to the charity of your choice.
