MESZAROS, Elizabeth
Age 82, of Guelph, Ontario, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2019, peacefully, in her sleep, after a short illness, surrounded by her loved ones. Elizabeth was born in Vecses, Hungary, on February 15, 1937. She was married to the late Gyula Meszaros on October 29, 1955. They were married for 57 years. Elizabeth worked as a winder for Hammond Manufacturing for over 25 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed copper crafts, crosswords, cooking, baking and gardening and she was involved with the Hungarian Club.
Elizabeth is survived by her two sons Julius (Shannon) and Joseph (Shawna) and Debbie (Paul), by five grandchildren, Jessica (TJ), Stacie (Ben), Nicole (Doug) and Kristi-Lynn (Johnny) and Mason, by seven great-grandchildren Brylee, Nicolette, Dustin Jr., Dean, Violet, Jaxon and Melody and by family and friends in Canada and Hungary.
Friends are invited to meet with the family at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph on Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 12 p.m., Fr. Locky Flanigan of Holy Rosary Church officiating. Interment will follow at Marymount Cemetery, Guelph. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to thank Guelph General Hospital and St. Joseph’s Health Centre and the staff at Whispering Oaks Unit for their dedication and hard work during Elizabeth’s brief stays there.
