Cyril “Cort” Elkins passed away peacefully, at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the age of 89 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his son: Barry (Debbie); son in-law: Alan; 4 granddaughters: Andrea (Peter), Anna (Marcus), Lindsey (Dave) , and Amanda; great grandson: James; brothers: Arthur (Olive), and Derrick (Lorraine); his special family Christine, Anita (Brian), Theresa, Chrissy, Greg, Carly, Dru, Michael (Ellen), Dianna, and Jordan; special neighbors and friends on Reid Street and Queen Street and Glenda and family. He was predeceased by his wife Ena; daughters: Linda and Gail; parents: Abram and Jane Elkins; sister: Irene (Ron), brother: Robert (Beatrice), and brothers in-law and sisters in-law. The family would like to thank Dr. Hameed and the nursing staff on 3rd floor and Palliative Care Unit for your compassionate care of our father during his stay there. Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Friday, July 5th from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at First United Church on Park Street Saturday, July 6th at 1 p.m. with Rev. John van Vliet officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to First United Church or the Rotary Music Festival.
