Charles Stanley “Stan”‘s Obituary
Demings, Charles Stanley “Stan”- age 84, of Birchtown, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 8, 2019 at Roseway Manor surrounded by his family. Born on December 17, 1934, he was a son of the late Nathan and Mildred (Rogers) Demings. Dad was a hardworking, kind and loving family man. He was a great neighbour and choose to see the good in everyone. His wife of 62 years, Betty, was the love of his life and together they touched many lives near and far. His faith in God sustained him and encouraged him to be the best man he could be. He will be greatly missed by his large family but will always be remembered for his love, care and concern for everyone. He is survived by his daughters Betsy Johnston, Shirley Locke (Darrell); sons Tom (Nancy), Leslie (Sue), Ricky ( Twyla), Joel (Peggy) and Steven (Deby); sisters Laverne Townsend (Carl), Diane Acker (Dave), Elaine Collins; brothers, Gerry, Mac (Jackie) and Terry (Bev); 20 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. Besides his parents, Stan was predeceased by his wife Edith “Betty”, brothers, Earl and Danny (infant); sisters Betty, Marilyn, Edna and Beverly (infant). Visitation will be held Thursday, July 11 from 7-9 pm in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. Funeral service will take place on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 11 a.m. from the Shelburne Community Centre, 63 King Street. Reception to follow immediately after the service. Interment in Mizpah Cemetery, Birchtown. Sincere thank you to Dr. Riley and the staff at Roseway Manor for the care, compassion and respect shown to our dad over the last three and a half years.
