Carl’s Obituary
Carl David Ash of Green Mountain, NB (formerly of Woodstock) occurred on July 25, 2019 at the Upper River Valley Hospital. Carl is survived by his wife Patricia (McCain) Ash; daughters Meghan Ash (Mark Steeves) and grandsons Fraser Steeves and Baxter Steeves; Daughter Gillian Ash Richard (Mike Richard) and granddaughter Celia Richard; Sisters Susan (Gary) McAloon, Linda (James) Brown, Mardi (Gary) Curry, Barb (Dave) McCain; brother Stephen (Jenny) Ash; brother-in-law Fred (Cynthia Allaby) McCain and sister-in-law Sue Gardner; nieces and nephews.
Carl was predeceased by his parents Carl B. and Marjorie ( Ehrhardt) and infant son John.
As a Chartered Accountant, Carl had a distinguished career in both public accounting and industry, and later as a Chartered Business Valuator. He was a past president of the New Brunswick Institute of Chartered Accountants and served on the board of Governors of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, as well as on many Committees of both institutes. He received his FCA (Fellow of Chartered Accountants) in 1991.
Carl was an avid fisherman and conservationist and served as Chairman of the Miramichi Salmon Association, Vice-Chairman of the NB Wildlife Council, and was founding director of the Meduxnekeag River Association. He was also a proud Rotarian. He was a past president and served on many Rotary committees. The Woodstock Rotary Club awarded him the Paul Harris Fellow in 1991.
He loved his hometown of Woodstock and gave back generously, especially with his funding efforts.

There will be no public visitation for Carl.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday July 27, 2019 at 1:30 pm at the Scott Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. David Tramley will be officiating, with reception to follow at the Scott Funeral Home.
Internment will be in the Florenceville Cemetery at a later date.
If desired donations may be made to the Meduxnkeag River Association or the Miramichi Salmon Association.
