Brennan Franklyn Goulding passed away on July 21, 2019 at the young age of 17, as a result of an accident when hiking with his friends.
Brennan couldn’t wait to start his life, entering this world on June 15th, 2002 in Kirkland Lake, 2 months before his due date. He was a fighter and strong willed from the very start.
He was the son of Rod and Deanne (née Patey) Goulding, who thought the absolute world of him. He attended KLDCS and was to begin grade 12 this coming fall. Brennan was extraordinarily intelligent and was working hard to get the grades he needed to attend university.
Brennan was a member of the Kirkland Lake Blue Devils hockey team, where he was the star of the dressing room. He enjoyed skate boarding, camping, and hanging out with his friends. Brennan’s friends were the center of his world. He was unendingly kind, as seen by the large number of friends who frequented his family home at 3 McPhee. He loved spending time with his family and was surrounded by family members in Kirkland Lake as well as Newfoundland & Labrador, where he spent many holidays and family vacations.
He was a leader and a joker. Brennan was loved fiercely by all who were lucky enough to have known him.
He will forever be remembered by the legacy he leaves behind and the cherished memories he leaves in the hearts of his parents Deanne and Rod, maternal grandparents Doris and Jerry Patey and paternal grandparents late Norma and Frank Goulding. His aunts and uncles Dwayne and Deanne (daughter Lauren), Wanda and late Gord (children Kelly, Tyler, Ashley), and Paula and Warren (children Amanda and Todd). Brennan was also blessed with extensive family of distant Aunts, Uncles and Cousins who loved him dearly.
Because of the great distance between his home in Kirkland Lake and his relatives in Newfoundland & Labrador, Brennan had a close and strong KL family made up the Clarkes, the Strachans and the Croxalls who loved him and will continue to love him forever.
As a tribute to his academic achievements and his fierce love of his friends, the family would like donations to be made to a scholarship fund that will be set up in his name.
“I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be”
