1953-2019
It is with sadness that the family of Berton Foster announces
his death at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Saturday, June 29,
2019 at the age of 66. Born in Fredericton, NB, on February 18, 1953,
he was the son of the late Richard “Dick” and Mary Elizabeth
(MacAfee) Foster.
Bert leaves behind his brother, Richard Foster (Jo Ann) and
sister, Nancy Ackerson (Paul); step-nieces and nephews, Stephanie,
Melissa, Tyler, Austin, Emma, and Vanessa Gilker; as well as several
cousins.
Bert graduated from FHS and went on operate his parent’s
farm, Foster’s Farm and Vegetable Stand, with his brother Richard. He
was a hard worker and a good caretaker. He loved animals and cared
deeply for their health and well being. Bert was headstrong but also
kind and outgoing. He was very sociable, enjoyed getting to know
others, and had a great sense of humor.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Tuesday,
July 2, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated from St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Wednesday, July
3, 2019 at 11 am. Fr. Charles Udeh will be the celebrant. Pallbearers
will be Gordon “Buzz” Harvey, Timothy MacAfee, David
McAllister, Dr. Greg McDowell, Jack Perley, and Scott Young. Interment
will take place in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery. For those
who wish, donations in Bert’s memory can be made to a charity of the
donor’s choice.
