LOTH – Mrs. Berit Solveg (nee Kaardal, nee Fines)
With sadness we announce the passing of Berit Loth on Sunday July 21, 2019. A kind woman with a strong sense of family she left this world a better place.
Berit was born on May 10, 1922 and grew up in Strongfield, SK. Berit married Frank Fines in 1939. They welcomed their daughter Marilyn in 1950 and their son Terry in 1956. Berit spent many years farming and raising her children. After Frank passed Berit was blessed to find another partner in Harvey Loth and they were married in 1990. She gained six additional children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Harvey and Berit spent many happy years in Shellbrook dancing, playing cards and golf.
It is of great comfort to know that she is now reunited with her parents Martha and Bernt, her sisters and brothers Ingrid, Signe, Ivar, Andrew, Trygvie, and Arnald, her husband Frank, her husband Harvey, her son Terry, and her great grandson Richard.
Berit is survived by her brothers Morris and Stanley, her daughter Marilyn (Ron) Crawford, Marilyn’s children Dixie (Larry) Crawford and Richelle (Skye) Moore, Her daughter-in-law Betty Fines and Terry’s children Angela (Lyle) Fines, Nicole (Terry) Storoschuk, and Kevin (Jennifer) Fines. She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Parkland Integrated Health Centre Care Home in Shellbrook for caring for Berit in her last years. A Private Family Service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, 2 – 706 Duchess Street, Saskatoon, SK S7K 0R3.
