With gratitude to God for a life well lived, we announce the peaceful transition to Eternal Life of Professor Clement Ayodele Bakare on July 17, 2019
Clement was a devoted husband to Bernadette and father to his children Andrew Ayodele (Abimbola), Stephanee Omotayo (Akute Azu) and Davina Ayoyinka (Olatunde Omisore).
He was equally devoted to the advancement of Audiology and Special Education in Nigeria, leading to his appointment as the first Professor of Speech Pathology and Audiology in Africa. He also contributed greatly to the development of Audiology and Speech Pathology in the Middle East where he held an academic position at King Saud University, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Additionally, he was appointed Provost, Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo, Oyo State, Nigeria and was the author and contributing author of several academic books.
He was predeceased by his son Charles Adedapo and sister Elizabeth Oladunni. He will be missed by his family which includes his siblings Grace Olufunke, Samuel Abiodun (Adedunni), Victoria Adetutu (late Muyiwa Onayemi), Christiana Ebunoluwa (Ade Ade-Serrano), Augustine Oluwole, Olori Patience Titilola (Oba John Abiri) and grandchildren Roisin, Simone, Andrea, Adrian, Janae, Noah, Layla and Kayla, as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
The family invites you to visit with them on Wednesday July 31, 2019 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Voluntas, 4695 Blvd. St. Jean, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC, H9H 2A7. The funeral service will be held on Thursday August 1, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., at St. Genevieve United Church, 4697 Blvd. St. Jean, Dollard Des Ormeaux.

Prof. Clement Ayodele Bakare was my lecturer and Head of Department , Special Education, Faculty of Education University of Ibadan. He was very meticulous, loved Audiology so much and a great leader who lived by example.
May his soul rest in perfect peace. My condolences to his family.
