Austin Andrew White “Sonny”
July 3, 1943 – July 2, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Austin Andrew White (aka Sonny) at Claresholm General Hospital on July 2, 2019 after his battle with cancer.
Born in Clear Hills, Alberta, he is the eldest child of Marion (Magrum) and Earl White.
As a member of the Canadian Armed Forces, he pursued a career as an Engineer, living all over Canada and Germany. After retiring from the military, he put his skills to use in the housing sector of Indian Affairs.
He loved to tell a good joke, and could always be counted on to make everyone around him laugh. He is fondly remembered by family and friends as: fun-loving, kind-hearted, tough, fearless and compassionate.
He is survived by his partner, Doris (Kifer) Longmuir of Claresholm, his children, Rayleen Dehmke, Laurie (Peter) White, Lynnette White, Roberta White and Meghan (Andrew) White, his sisters, Elsie Gurela, Beverley (Phil) Eberle, his step-children, Derald Longmuir, Sheri Walker and Cole Longmuir and his many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by former partner Patricia McDonogh, daughter, Paige McDonogh, granddaughter, Phoenix O’Sullivan, brother, Allan EC White, step-son Kevin Longmuir and brother-in-law Art Gurela.
A Celebration of Life has been held.
